Answers to Popular Questions
Q. Why should I hire a Lawyer if I can do the work myself with do-it-yourself software?
A. The law is full of traps for the unwary. When you represent yourself or use do-it-yourself software, you may fall victim to one of these traps. Often, the money you initially saved in avoiding legal fees is spent many times over in correcting the problem created. You wouldn’t perform surgery on yourself, you wouldn’t rebuild your automobile transmission and you wouldn’t build your own house. Why would you ever represent yourself?
Q. Why aren’t attorney’s fees definitively quoted in advertisements?
A. The amount of fees often depends on the amount of time to be spent on the particular matter. The amount of time is dependent on the unique facts presented in the particular case. Until an attorney hears what those facts are, he usually cannot quote a total, definitive fee.
Q. Are your fees hourly or by percentage?
A. We represent MA personal injury clients on a contingency basis. We do not get paid until there is a settlement or judgment collected. Our contingency fee is one third of the amount recovered.
